Urine stains on carpet? Treat it seriously.

When it comes to treating urine stains – dog, cat or human (babies, we hope) – on carpet or upholstery, we take our work very, very seriously!  If stains are not treated properly, the odour can travel through the entire home and impact your health and your happiness. The longer an incident and stain go untreated, the more likely the urine odour is to permeate deeper into floors, and even into the foundation of your home.

At MasterClean Carpet Care, we undertake a deep extracting of the contamination to remove the urine, eliminate the odour, and restore the carpet or upholstery to a hygienic standard.  We take this VERY seriously to deliver a SERIOUSLY top result. We are so good at this that you could say that ‘we’ll take the piss out of anything!’

But seriously, below we take a look at why you should never delay treating urine stains and contamination and why you should call in the professionals at MasterClean Carpet Care to fix it.

Baby urine stain

When it comes to stains, looks can be deceiving

You may think you’ve cleaned up baby’s accident and it’s true some cleaners can remove the water-soluble components of urine.  But what they leave behind is the uric acid crystals that retain the odour and stain.  These crystals attach to carpet or upholstery fibres and are difficult to dislodge.  Any humidity or dampness will trigger the dormant crystals, bringing back the odour.

At Masterclean Carpet Care, our deep extraction technique ‘eats up’ the uric acid crystals eliminating both the urine stain and the odour for good.

Cat’s will revisit the scene of the crime

Cats are usually fastidious about their toilet habits and will consistently use a litter tray indoors or go outdoors. Occasionally a one-off accident can occur if a cat is ill, trapped in a room or suddenly frightened.
If inappropriate urination persists, it should be investigated by a vet.

That said, unfortunately, once your cat has urinated on your carpet or couch, its sensitive nose will encourage it to use that place as a regular toilet.   We help break this habit by extracting the urine and odour, allowing your cat to rediscover the litter tray.

Urine can contain harmful bacteria

Leptospirosis was once considered an uncommon disease, however, it has been detected in some areas of Melbourne and Sydney as recently as August last year.   It’s a serious disease that spreads from animals to humans and the most common sources of infection are caused by contact with the urine of infected animals – cats and (mostly) dogs included.

It’s not worth risking your health to attempt to treat your pet’s urine contamination.  Call in the professionals at MasterClean Carpet Care to make your carpet or upholstery hygienic again.

And what about those ‘home remedies’…

Home remedies are all over the Internet. Baking soda and vinegar are the go-to natural remedies for all sorts of purposes. Whilst they may remove stains quite well, they won’t get to the core of the problem – the odour lingering deep down in the fibres.

Whilst there are a lot of DIY products on the market these days, nothing will truly treat the problem better than the deep extraction method used by MasterClean Carpet Care.  Don’t put off treating the stain, book a professional carpet clean with us today!
